“Putts for Pups” golf tournament helps pets without home

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Haile’s Angels Pet Rescue hosted their 5th annual “Putts for Pups” golf tournament to raise funds and awareness for pets without a home.

Veterinarian, Samantha Rivera, said 100 percent of the proceeds go to taking care of pets and finding them a home.

“Every dime, every penny goes back to Haile’s Angels and rescuing more animals so it goes into veterinary care, it goes into feeding,” explained Rivera.

She encouraged everyone to save animals instead of shopping. The Pisano family rescued their furry friend, The Professor, over two years ago. They explained that events like these

In the island forests of the western Pacific, there’s an otherworldly animal known as the Philippine tarsier.

With bat ears, suction cup–like fingers, and giant golden eyes, the creatures would be easy to mistake for extras on a sci-fi movie set. But in fact, tarsiers are primates and distant relatives of humans.

World-famous ‘Chunk the Groundhog’ raises family in Delaware man’s backyard

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (WPVI) — “I never looked at a groundhog from this point of view before,” said Jeff Permar.

Typically thought to be a nuisance, groundhogs have become the lifelong gardener’s best friends.

In 2019, Permar noticed his crops had large chunks bitten out of them. He purchased a motion-sensor camera to catch the perpetrator. That’s when “Chunk” stole his vegetables and his heart.

“Sure enough, this groundhog comes popping up right in front of the camera,” said Permar. “He was so smug, he was like, yeah, I’m eating your veggies, what are you gonna do about it?”

The Animals lead guitarist was 77

Original guitarist for the Animals and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Hilton Valentine has died. He was 77. 

“We, along with all of the music world, mourn the loss today of Hilton Valentine a founding member of The Animals. Valentine was a pioneering guitar player influencing the sound of rock and roll for decades to come,” ABKCO Music & Records said in a statement shared by Bob Merliss.

Valentine’s death was revealed by his wife, Germaine Valentine, according to the released statement. A cause of death was not immediately given.

Stewart County authorities reunite Cunningham couple with stolen pet, missing for 2 months

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Stewart County authorities reunited a dog with a couple in Cunningham after being stolen from their front yard the week before Thanksgiving.

Judy Arrington told News 2 it all started when she was browsing Facebook to purchase wood. That’s when she stumbled upon an advertisement for some for sale in Dover, Tennessee. She told the man selling the wood she was only comfortable doing so if she could see the product and exchange information. After that, the man delivered the wood to the Arrington’s home the week before Thanksgiving.
